i am always interested in the relationship between drawing and writing, art and literature, and ways in which an artist can successfully incorporate text into visual art.
installation - "excerpts from an imaginary book, 'I Will Not Lie' by Mary Houlihan" - Visions and Revisions Show @ the Diego Rivera Gallery, SF
for the show, i drew pictures of an imaginary book, drawing the text and illustrations in blue ballpoint. the result is vignettes of a story called "I Will Not Lie," which chronicles my adventures driving across the united states with rene and rocco. i created a space for the drawings with a reading area. i love reading and writing, and classic novels especially.
